This is a live performance of Tarantella by Johann Kaspar Mertz (1806-1856), played during the Lunchtime Recital Series in TU Dublin Conservatoire.
This composition was originally written by Mertz for solo guitar (as part of the collection “Bardenklänge” op.13) and for two guitars. Enrica transcribed this piece for piano and guitar in December 2022, starting from the two guitars version, as part of her DMus (Doctor in Music) project.
Enrica plays a René Lacote copy made by luthier Gabriele Lodi (Carpi, 2022) with nylgut strings (Ambra 900, Aquila Corde) and Laura plays on a fortepiano made by Zuckerman in 1996 and inspired by a late 18th century instruments (after Stein).
Many thanks to TU Dublin Conservatoire
